For programs of 3 months or longer in Spain and Portugal, an English level of B2–C1 is required. SBCC provides a private tutor for at least 6 months to prepare you for the interview and the internship. The minimum package includes 50 lessons.
Language level is assessed during the preliminary interview. We do not reject candidates with insufficient language skills — we arrange extra preparation with our teacher before signing the agreement.
SBCC is not a family travel agency and is not responsible for persons who are not program participants. Our accommodation and support are designed exclusively for interns.
For guests in the SBCC guesthouse SBCC signs a civil responsibility document for each participant. We cannot place third parties (spouses, children) as part of the educational program.
Internships involve full schedules, day and evening shifts, and high workload; therefore we cannot guarantee domestic or medical support for accompanying persons, which may create risks for both the companion and the intern.
SBCC provides a brochure with the current list of partner restaurants and hotels. All locations in the catalogue are vetted and meet program standards.
We do not place interns in establishments outside this list.
After payment of the deposit or full fee, each candidate receives a package of documents from Spain. This package acts as a letter of guarantee/invitation for visa support. The candidate is responsible for collecting required documents according to the visa type and submitting them to the chosen country’s visa centre.
We recommend carrying about €500 per month. This amount generally covers basic personal expenses and cultural activities. Actual needs depend on personal preferences.
