Fifty Years in the Kitchen: Dani García’s Tribute to Martín Berasategui
On the southwest coast of Spain, in the resort city of Marbella, a celebratory tribute took place at one of our partner restaurants run by the world-renowned chef Dani García (holder of six Michelin stars across three restaurants). The event honored the 50-year culinary career of MARTÍN BERASATEGUI — the most Michelin-decorated chef in Spain.

Dani García’s initiative to celebrate this significant milestone was no coincidence. His own career, after graduating from culinary school at the age of 19, began with an internship at Martín Berasategui’s restaurant, which at that time held two Michelin stars. Five years later, Dani García earned his first Michelin star and dedicated it to his mentor and dear teacher.

Twenty-four years later, Dani García once again pays homage to Berasategui — gathering for this dinner nearly as many Michelin-starred Spanish chefs as one might see at the gastronomic congress Madrid Fusión.
